Safety and Security
At the Care and Education Academy we take all reasonable steps to ensure the health and safety of each individual in the service.
To achieve this, we will establish and maintain safe working procedures between management, staff, parents, and all children attending the service and ensure all aspects of policies and procedures are abided by. Our Health and Safety Statement is located in the reception area.
In House Safety CCTV system: We have security cameras in the centre. These cameras are in all classrooms, sleep rooms and outside the centre, they record 24 hours a day. Intercom and security systems ensures only parents and staff can enter the building using a key-pad system. Visitors must announce themselves through an intercom at the front door. Viewing panels are present around the building’s corridors allowing all rooms to be on view. Large tv screens are located in each wobbler room to allow staff to view sleeping children at all times. Monthly fire drill: We conduct a fire drill each month to ensure the staff and children are clear on the evacuation procedure. Records are kept on each fire drill. All staff are fully vetted before commencing employment All cleaning agents are stored in a designated secure storage area away from children Outdoor areas are safe and secure with daily risk assessments undertaken by staff. A strict Child Collection Policy is implemented where only previously named family members /friends over the age of 16 may collect a child from the centre. Staff are aware of each child’s medical history and any allergies or special needs they may have. Regulatory staff-child ratios are consistently adhered to. Staff are trained in First Aid and Fire Safety. A high standard of cleaning, hygiene, and maintenance is implemented to ensure a safe and secure environment for your child.
